Treadstone Underlayments Enables New Job Sequencing

Formulated Materials, a major North American maker of gypsum cements, sound attenuating matting, and novel waterproofing solutions, has introduced a new gypsum before drywall solution to help the multifamily construction industry.

Gypsum before drywall helps general contractors to re-schedule their projects and save 10 to 14 days of time and thousands of dollars on a typical sized project.

”At Formulated Materials, we have always believed that we should challenge conventional thinking when it favors improvement in process or product,” remarked Ryan Brausa, Director of Marketing for Compellier, Formulated Materials’ parent firm.

“Gypsum before drywall is a perfect example of this mindset. A pairing of two products to save time, money and improve building safety is a perfect example of this.”

Treadstone Elite, when combined with Treadstone FR25 and FR30, provides a virtually incompressible substrate that is tough enough to withstand construction demands such as the transport and placing of hundreds of pounds of drywall.

This exceptional strength enables multi-family construction projects to be sequenced, resulting in real time and money savings for General Contractors.

Placing the Treadstone Elite and FR25 before to the drywall allows the water to evaporate faster and eliminates the chance of mold on the drywall’s paper face. Without walls, crews may pour gypsum cement faster and with greater leveling, benefiting other crafts such as drywall and flooring.

Furthermore, the elimination of several prep procedures assures that works are completed faster and more efficiently than the old technique of installation.
