IKO Elevates Roofing Aesthetics with the Launch of New Dynasty Cool Colors Plus Shingle Line

The Dynasty Cool Colors Plus shingles are intended to exceed the minimal reflectivity standards by 25%, making them an excellent choice for Los Angeles residents negotiating the city’s cool roofing laws.

IKO, a global pioneer in residential and commercial roofing, waterproofing, and insulation, is excited to announce the addition of five new vibrant hues to its Dynasty Cool hues Plus shingle collection. These improvements provide homeowners with a wider range of options to accent their architectural design while still meeting California’s cool roof criteria. The new color possibilities include Dual Brown, Graphite Black, Pebble Grey, Bayshore, and Coastal Sands.

“We’re thrilled to introduce our Dynasty Cool Colors Plus line with these vibrant new options,” said IKO North America’s home product development manager, Vince Carrier. “These upgrades not only improve the aesthetics but also ensure the great longevity and performance that homeowners have come to expect. This expansion exemplifies IKO’s commitment to ‘Roofing Elevated’.

The Dynasty Cool Colors Plus shingles are intended to exceed the minimal reflectivity standards by 25%, making them an excellent choice for Los Angeles residents negotiating the city’s cool roofing laws. Their brilliant color blends and specifically constructed granules reduce heat transmission into attics, resulting in excellent Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) ratings.

Key Features of Dynasty Cool Colors and Shingles:

    • Cool Roof Compliance: The shingles can be used to meet California Title 24, Part 6 and Los Angeles City and County roof reflectance Title requirements with an SRI of 20 or above.
    • Class 3 Impact Resistance Rating: These heavy-duty laminated shingles have a Class 3 impact resistance rating* due to their heavy-weight structure and thick layer of weathering asphalt, which may help homeowners qualify for lower residential insurance costs if given.
    • Armour Zone Technology: The shingles have been developed to withstand severe winds, thanks to the addition of the ArmourZone, and they come with a limited wind resistance warranty of 130 mph. The shingles have tear-resistant reinforced tape on the back to prevent nail pull-through and shingle blow-off. A 1 ¼-inch nailing surface on the front allows correct nail placement, resulting in stronger and faster installation.
    • FastLock Sealant: The sun’s heat activates IKO FastLock sealant strips, which make a strong adhesive to defend against wind-driven rain and water damage.
    • Durability and Protection: Weathering asphalt coats the shingles, which are then capped with protective granules to ensure great longevity and structural integrity.

Dynasty Cool Colors Plus provide a unique set of performance features. The use of ArmourZone technology improves durability, giving improved resistance to severe winds and impact. This is supplemented with a Class 3 Impact Resistance rating and FastLock Sealant for wind-driven rain protection, assuring long-term, dependable performance in extreme weather situations. Furthermore, the addition of solar reflective granules improves energy efficiency, resulting in a 20+ SRI and making it one of the most adaptable tiles available.
