Bendheim introduces a new series of 10mm textured EcoGlass.
Bendheim introduces a new series of 10mm textured EcoGlass. These precision rolled decorative glass designs comprise 40 to 50 percent recycled glass, significantly expanding the availability of environmentally friendly, design-forward architectural glass.
EcoGlass, produced by Glasfabrik Lamberts in Europe’s first clean-burning oxygen/fuel-fired cast glass furnace, contains at least 15% pre-consumer glass cullet and 25–35% post-consumer recycled glass. EcoGlass represents the highest-quality product made under the most stringent environmental standards, allowing the design community to make environmentally responsible decisions.
EcoGlass offers outstanding daylighting properties and is available in ten textures that provide variable levels of privacy. Glass can be used with bespoke color interlayers, color coatings, or digital printing to create ornamental facades, interior feature walls, partitions, and backsplashes. Bendheim’s unique Z-KISS and TurnKey fastening systems ensure rapid and easy installation.
The 10mm thick EcoGlass can be tempered, making it more cost-effective and eliminating the need for expensive lamination. The glass is also ideal for both framed and frameless shower enclosures in healthcare, hospitality, and residential settings. Patterns range from linear to organic, giving users a range of options when deciding on the level of privacy they desire.
Bendheim stocks, tempers, and fabricates EcoGlass in its New Jersey manufacturing site. EcoGlass has Health Product Declarations (HPDs) that are tempered, laminated, digitally printed, and color coated.
“We recognized the demand for enviro-friendly architectural glass with clearly identifiable green attributes and collaborated with our long-time partner, Glasfabrik Lamberts to bring EcoGlass to market,” according to Donald Jayson, president of Bendheim. “From manufacture to installation, our EcoGlasses are exceptionally green and contribute to a project’s aesthetics and sustainability.”
