Dialight Launches DC Crane Vigilant High Bay Fixture for Overhead Crane Applications

Dialight, a global pioneer in hazardous and industrial LED lighting innovation, has announced the release of its newest fixture, the DC Crane Vigilant High Bay, which is intended exclusively for overhead crane applications.

Overhead crane applications, which are ubiquitous in heavy industrial environments like metals and steel production, are renowned for huge voltage swells and dips that occur during crane operation and regeneration. Even the most durable lighting fixtures are vulnerable to failure in these harsh conditions. Compromises in power supply and electrical components can leave work areas in the dark or cause lights to fail, posing an unnecessary safety risk.

Dialight’s DC Crane Vigilant High Bay has a wide input range of 250-480VDC, built-in 6kV surge protection, and can withstand short-term voltage swells of up to 778VDC for at least 60 seconds. These fixtures, in addition to Dialight’s integrated custom power supplies, have additional features to withstand harsh industrial environments, such as a copper-free aluminum housing with dual powder coat finish, a robust tempered glass lens, an IK10 impact rating, and an ambient temperature range of up to 65°C on most models. There are variants to fit a wide range of mounting heights and applications, with lumen output ranging from 12,000 to 40,000 lumens.

Dialight CEO Fariyal Khanbabi stated, “Dialight has long been the gold standard in LED lighting for hazardous and industrial applications” “We are pleased to be able to broaden our service to those with special performance requirements in order to handle the challenges of overhead crane operation. Our DC Crane fixture provides customers with Dialight’s renowned dependability and an industry-leading 10-year warranty, as well as features that protect against voltage sags and swells.”

Dialight has a long history of solid engineering and thorough product testing. The DC Crane Vigilant High Bay has been vibration tested in accordance with Lloyd’s Registry and IEC 60068-2-6 over a wide frequency range of 10-150Hz and 750,000 cycles. It comes with Dialight’s industry-leading 10-year warranty to assure long-term dependability even in the most challenging conditions.
