Ajustco Introduces New Metal Pan Deck Anchor Thread

Ajustco is happy to announce the addition of a new recessed metal pan deck Anchor Thread (RMPD) to the Anchor Thread product line, which will be affixed to metal pan decking, or Q-Deck.

It performs the same function as the original Anchor Thread cast in place concrete anchoring method, but it is intended to be attached to the metal pan deck rather than conventional formwork.

“We are thrilled to announce the launch of this new product,” stated Ajustco CEO Jason Stile. “We plan on continuing to add innovative products to the Anchor Thread product line as the needs arise and our brilliant designers create them.”

“As co-inventors of the Anchor Thread system, my father and I are very proud of how far it has advanced over the past few years,” said Joseph Fugallo IV, Director of Design at Ajustco. “We attribute this growth to our team’s intense effort to raise awareness of this revolutionary anchoring system and further develop the Anchor Thread product line.”

“Our Passion and mission is to deliver simple innovations that make a significant impact to the builders hardware and construction industries!” Ajustco COO Jamie Walsh remarked.

Drilling holes in concrete for wedge anchors has been the standard way of anchoring into a superstructure for decades. This procedure produces harmful silica dust, weakens the superstructure, is risky for employees who must be on a ladder or leading edge, and is time-consuming.

The Anchor Thread System is a ground-breaking method for embedding anchors as the building is built. Anchor Threads are attached to the form work prior to pouring, and they become permanent connection points in the superstructure. Anchor Threads are commonly used to attach objects such as leading edge protection, personal fall protection equipment, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing lines and equipment, spider crane tie downs, window washing equipment, and elevator shaft netting.

The Anchor Thread System can save millions of dollars in insurance and labor costs by significantly lowering both construction worker dangers and installation time. Anchor Threads also significantly exceed all code standards that other anchoring methods may not even reach.

The Anchor Thread System was awarded the Liberty Mutual Safety Innovation Award in Construction for 2021. The award, sponsored by Liberty Mutual Insurance and managed by CPWR, honors innovative evidence-based technologies, work practices, and programs (interventions) that reduce or eliminate construction hazards that cause injuries and pain in the construction industry. The judges chose Ajustco as the winner because the Anchor Thread technology reduced both silica dust exposure and ladder time.

Anchor Thread also won the 2020 New York City Department of Buildings “Hack the Building Code” Innovation Challenge. The contest, a collaboration between the DOB, the NYC Economic Development Corporation, and Urban Tech Hub @ Company Ventures, seeks ideas for the best methods to enhance how over 1.1 million buildings in NYC are designed, constructed, and maintained.

New technologies, resilient requirements, building sustainability, construction site safety, public safety, public quality of life issues, reducing inefficiencies in the development process, and updating construction practices are among the categories in which winners are chosen. In the summer of 2021, the NYC DOB also issued a bulletin identifying the Anchor Thread methodology as an accepted anchoring method in the NYC Building Code.

Finally, in the summer of 2021, Ajustco earned its ICC-ES Evaluation Report, which is the highest certification and international level for building code compliance in the world.
