MoistureShield, an Oldcastle APG signature composite decking brand, introduces Catalina, a soft “greige” shade reminiscent of aged shiplap, to its Meridian capped composite decking line, to easily match today’s architectural styles.
Greige is a gray-beige color combination that has become popular in recent years for interiors and has been named a color of the year by leading decor brands.
“Complementing a wide range of trending aesthetics, Catalina’s neutral greige tone can easily be enhanced with fabrics and textures as the perfect palette for any outdoor living space,” MoistureShield Vice President of Sales Matthew Bruce stated.
“Featuring MoistureShield’s CoolDeck and TruTexture surface technologies, Catalina delivers the visual appeal of weathered wood decking with the benefits of comfort and long-term performance.”
Meridian’s Catalina, which is available nationwide as an affordable upgrade from wood decking materials, features MoistureShield’s TruTexture Surface to provide the superior scratch resistance of a capped composite with a natural wood-grain finish and reduced pattern repetition for an authentic wood aesthetic.
Citadel, a cool Atlantic gray with a subtle patina; Shoreside, a subtly variegated golden sandy blonde; and Mariner, a timeless dark brown with rich undertones, are also Meridian premium colors.
MoistureShield’s Citadel and Shoreside, in addition to Catalina, include MoistureShield’s industry-first, proprietary CoolDeck technology.
CoolDeck reduces heat absorption by up to 35% when compared to traditional capped composite boards of the same color, resulting in a more comfortable outdoor living space.
Meridian, like all MoistureShield deck products, uses the proprietary Solid Core manufacturing process to protect against moisture absorption, warping, rotting, and insect damage.
It can be installed on the ground, on the ground, or underwater. Meridian is available in 12′, 16′, and 20′ lengths with square edges and grooved 1×5.4 deck boards.
MoistureShield decking has been field-tested for 30 years with no structural failures and is backed by a 50-year transferrable structural warranty for all decking series.
