“Our Color of the Year empowers consumers to use color with confidence,” stated Andy Lopez, Behr Paint’s Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing. “Rumors is undoubtedly a color that inspires creativity while being versatile enough to transform a space through large and small projects.”

Rumors is a universal color that transcends design trends and encourages self-expression, from striking curb appeal on a front door to a dramatic four-wall drench in a bedroom.

Rumors’ rich allure is part of the BEHR 2025 Color Trends Palette, a yearly assortment of forward-thinking hues spanning from tempting warm tones to colder gorgeous shades to help DIYers, designers, and paint professionals choose colors more easily. These hues form a connected color story as a result of extensive study and trend analysis conducted around the world across many lifestyle influences.

1Behr Paint commissioned an online poll of 1,000 general population Americans aged 18 and older. Data is nationally representative in terms of age, gender, race/ethnicity, and area. The study was conducted between July 2 and 9, 2024. The margin of error (MOE) for the entire sample is +/- 3 percentage points.
