Tarkett, a global leader in creative and sustainable flooring solutions, has launched a new luxury vinyl tile (LVT) designed to improve acoustics in high-traffic office spaces.
With bad acoustics frequently cited as the No. 1 complaint about their workplace, Tarkett concentrated its efforts on designing a resilient floor covering that would eliminate distractions and boost productivity. As a result, even Plane LVT has sound absorption that is 30% higher than required by building rules.
“Each time we’re distracted by unwanted noise, it takes an average of 15 minutes to regain concentration. Multiply that by several distractions a day for each employee, and you can quickly see how poor acoustics directly impact company performance,” according to Ben Elliott, director of LVT product management.”Our new Even Plane has top-of-the-line acoustic reduction that helps everyone in the space work better together.”
A non-woven fiberglass layer beneath the surface of Even Plane LVT resists indentation and dampens sound both within the space and between floors. Even Plane LVT delivers outstanding resistance to scratches, scuffs, stains, and abrasions thanks to its 32-mil wear layer and cutting-edge Techtonic protection, which has a 100% performance satisfaction record to date.
Even Plane may be mixed and matched in a multitude of imaginative combinations and layouts because it is available in 19 wood, stone, and textile looks in numerous tile and plank sizes. Even Plane can be put alongside Tarkett’s concept Modular carpet tile without transition strips for increased comfort and space delineation, allowing for faster, more cost-effective installation and reducing the chance of trip and fall accidents.
“Even Plane expands design options for creating quieter corridors, zoned collaboration spaces, and soothing atmospheres for focused work,” Elliott said. “The collection truly satisfies a variety of design challenges presented by the modern workplace.”
Even Plane, like other Tarkett North America products, is ortho-phthalate-free and designed with people and the environment in mind. FloorScore Certified, the collection features 30% recycled content. Every Aircraft can be returned to Tarkett’s hassle-free ReStart program at the end of its life. The product-specific Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) on the corporate website contains a validated report on Even Plane’s entire environmental impact across its lifecycle. Furthermore, an Even Plane Material Health Statement validated by a third party discloses components at 100 parts per million (ppm).
