GAF Energy, a Standard Industries business and North America’s top provider of solar roofing, announced the introduction of its unique Timberline Solar roof in the Greater Sacramento area.
Timberline Solar, the only system that directly integrates solar technology with standard roofing processes and materials, is now available for installation by local roofers to Sacramento households.
The solar roofing system includes the world’s first nailable solar shingle, the Timberline Solar Energy Shingle (ES), which is manufactured in the United States at GAF Energy’s manufacturing and research and development center in San Jose.
“Greater Sacramento area residents now have access to the best solar solution for their home—a durable, attractive, affordable solar roof that is manufactured in America and installed by a local roofer they trust,” remarked Jason Barrett, GAF Energy’s Senior Vice President of Sales.
“We’re excited to bring the next generation of clean energy adoption to this part of California.”
The Timberline Solar ES has an industry-leading depth of less than a quarter inch and blends in with standard shingles to provide a clean and appealing appearance. It is the first product to receive UL’s 7103 certification, indicating that GAF Energy’s product passes UL’s stringent electrical, building, and safety standards as both a roofing product and a solar energy product—the first of its type to be recognized as both.
Timberline Solar is the world’s most awarded solar shingle. It has garnered over 30 accolades since its inception in January 2022, including those from CES, TIME, Fast Company, Popular Science, Green Builder, Good Housekeeping, and the National Association of Home Builders.
GAF Energy is expanding its Timberline Solar manufacturing capacity by building a new 450,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Georgetown, Texas, to satisfy demand.
