CRAFTSMAN, an American icon trusted by homeowners, home builders, auto enthusiasts, and master mechanics since 1927, announces the introduction of OVERDRIVE mechanics tools, an innovative new line of sockets, wrenches, and ratchets designed to provide access in confined spaces and rounded bolt removal for common automotive and maintenance tasks.
OVERDRIVE mechanics tools are backed by CRAFTSMAN’s complete lifetime warranty and have a sleek corrosion resistant gunmetal chrome finish, easy-to-read markings, and increased geometry needed for a range of jobs. The 121-piece mechanical tools set (CMMT99121L) and the 11-piece wrench set, available in both SAE (CMMT87711) and metric (CMMT87811) sizes, are standouts in the new OVERDRIVE collection.
“At CRAFTSMAN we take pride in developing innovative mechanics tools that everyone from homeowners to automotive enthusiasts reach for every day,” Matthew McGarry, Director of Product Management, Stanley Black & Decker said. “Our new line of OVERDRIVE mechanics tools continue that tradition and come packed with enhancements on ratchets, sockets, and wrenches designed to address a variety of challenges, from rusted and rounded bolt removal to turning fasteners in tight spaces.”
CRAFTSMAN OVERDRIVE ratchets, with a 180-tooth count dual-pawl mechanism and a 2.0-degree arc swing, give 2.5X improved access* for restricted turns and difficult-to-reach fasteners. Furthermore, new OVERDRIVE sockets and box end wrenches include Tight Torque Technology, which is designed to remove fasteners that have been rounded up to 70% and to assist prevent rounding.
CRAFTSMAN OVERDRIVE mechanics tools will be available in shops and online this autumn in locations where CRAFTSMAN goods are sold.
