Alside Introduces Innovative High-Performance Insulated Glass Windows Packages

Alside, a leading manufacturer and distributor of exterior building products, expands its replacement window product portfolio with ClimaTech PriME, a family of high-performance insulated glass packages.

ENERGY STAR has certified that select Alside vinyl windows and patio doors meet the criteria for the Most Efficient designation. This accomplishment not only demonstrates Alside’s commitment to providing energy-efficient products, but it also allows homeowners to potentially benefit from valuable federal tax credits*.

“With ClimaTech PriME high-performance insulated glass packages, homeowners can combine energy savings, environmental responsibility and financial benefits,” said Adam Copel, Alside’s Windows Business Director. “By making the choice to upgrade their windows with this innovative glass package, homeowners are investing in a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.”

Homeowners can now significantly reduce their home’s energy consumption and lower their utility bills while potentially qualifying for valuable tax credits, which are now available on Mezzo and Fairfield 80 Series windows. ClimaTech PriME meets the energy-efficiency performance requirements of the country’s four climate zones.

    Survey Says

Alside recently commissioned a national survey**, which was conducted online by The Harris Poll, to gain valuable insights into the window purchasing experience, and discovered that improving energy efficiency was the top reason house/apartment/condo owners would consider replacing windows. ClimaTech PriME provides homeowners with a new product option to help reduce energy costs and potentially qualify for tax credits as part of the government’s efforts to incentivize energy-efficient home upgrades under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Most homeowners are eligible to claim 30% of window product costs, up to $600 per year, under the program, provided the replacement windows meet ENERGY STAR Most Efficient requirements. Additionally, homeowners who install ClimaTech PriME technology on sliding glass doors may be eligible for an additional tax credit of $250 per door (up to $500 per year).

    A Closer Look

According to the National Fenestration Rating Council, the average American household spends $1,500 to $2,500 per year on energy bills, with heating and cooling accounting for up to 45% of that cost depending on climate zone. Selecting high-performance windows can help homeowners save money. ClimaTech PriME has a hermetically sealed triple-pane insulated glass unit with three panes of glass, three Low-E (low-emissivity) surfaces, two argon gas fill spaces, and two warm-edge spacers for a powerful energy-efficient design.

    Cost-Advantage: Argon Gas

ClimaTech PriME uses argon gas between the glass panes, which is a less expensive solution than krypton gas, which is typically used to achieve ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certification. ClimaTech PriME’s lower relative cost may help homeowners achieve a higher return on investment.

**Survey Method: From June 8 to 12, 2023, The Harris Poll conducted an online survey in the United States on behalf of Alside among 1,329 U.S. house/condo/apartment owners ages 18 and older. A Bayesian credible interval is used to calculate the sampling precision of Harris online polls. The sample data for this study is accurate to within +/- 3.1 percentage points using a 95% confidence level.
